Stealing Candy from a Baby: Croft Reserve Tawny Port
The quality of Ports is high and the price so reasonable it’s like stealing candy from a baby!
This Croft Reserve Tawny Port is red with a bit of orange in its colour. Notes of blackberry, black cherry, candied apple and Cuban cigars. On the palate it is soft and smooth like a baby’s bottom…since we are talking about babies! Some small degree of heat on the finish. On the palate blueberries, Seville Marmalade, burnt sugar and loganberry jam. Nice long complex finish. I have a feeling this will go for 5 more years and get a bit nutty and develop some caramel and butterscotch flavours.
I like the snazzy bottle quite like a high end craft distillery.
At this paltry price both the baby may be crying but I am smiling.
