Big Seller: Big Dud: Pinot Grigio Santa Margherita
I remember having this wine a few weeks ago at a dinner party and thinking what a bland wine. Can a big seller be a loser? I think so.
So I decided in peace and quiet to give it a serious try.
In colour it is platinum.
On the palate there is virtually no taste at all. A tiny bit of apricot otherwise very watery.
Short finish. Drink now or even better return to the LCBO for a refund.
On the nose weak kneed notes of apricot, peach, slate and melon.
This may be a big LCBO seller but in my opinion a big loser. How on earth did this ever get released in Ontario’s LCBO? At $19.95 I am stunned. $6.95 would be a better price!
My goodness Italy can do far better in the Pinot Grigio department!
