Windsor Artist Travels North
(WINDSOR, ON) – Windsor artist Zeke Moores will be sharing his skills in a Mould Making and Casting Workshop taking place in Iqaluit, NU. From July 7 through 9, the workshop will introduce mould-making and casting techniques and will enable artists, especially carvers and jewelers, to reproduce original objects and create multiples.
Moores is participating in a newly formed partnership between the Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association and the Arts Council Windsor and Region. This north and south collaboration will create an opportunity for the creative development of artists through professional development workshops in Windsor, Essex County, and Nunavut.
Artists from this region will be invited to the north with reciprocal visits to Windsor to teach various workshops and opportunities to share their art practice.
“We are committed to working with NACA towards developing an ongoing partnership so that the northernmost and southernmost artists in Canada can share and learn from each others’ unique practices” said Julie Tucker, the director of public programs and advocacy. “We hope to host an artist from Nunavut in the fall.”
Moores will share his experience with Windsor region and will be taking over the ACWR’s Instagram account, @artscouncilregion. He will post pictures of the community, culture, and the workshop.
