Montgomery Gentry To Perform At Detroit Grand Prix

(DETROIT, MI) – One of country music’s most prominent duos will bring their blue collar sound to the Detroit Grand Prix as Montgomery Gentry will perform on the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage on Saturday evening, June 3.

With a strong Kentucky sound led by Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, Montgomery Gentry will take the stage at Belle Isle Park shortly after the first Verizon IndyCar Series race of the Grand Prix weekend.

All Saturday Grand Prix ticketholders are welcome to attend the concert at the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage, located in the Meijer Fan Zone, at no additional cost.

Montgomery Gentry made its debut in 1999 with the band’s first single entitled Hillbilly Shoes. The eighth and most recent album from the duo, Folks Like Us, was released in 2015. Montgomery Gentry has produced 14 Top 10 singles and five No. 1 songs on the country charts including Something To Be Proud Of, If You Ever Stop Loving Me, Lucky Man, Back When I Knew It All, and Roll With Me.

“We are excited to once again work with MotorCity Casino Hotel to bring world-class entertainment to the Grand Prix in 2017,” said Bud Denker, the chairman of the Detroit Grand Prix. “Montgomery Gentry will bring a different kind of sound and energy to the Grand Prix and we’re very excited to have them perform for our fans and celebrate a fun Saturday night on June 3 at Belle Isle.”

The Montgomery Gentry concert will be the perfect culmination to an exciting Saturday at the Grand Prix, with races from all four series competing on track.

The first race of the IndyCar Series Dual in Detroit will follow the exotic sports cars of the IMSA SportsCar Championship in the Sports Car Classic. The Trans Am Series will also compete in the first race of the Motor City 100 and the high-flying trucks of the SPEED SUPER Trucks race on Saturday as well.

The Grand Prix worked with local radio partner NASH-FM 93.1 to make today’s announcement.

The Grand Prix will announce Sunday’s headline concert on the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage in the coming days and a full schedule of entertainment on race weekend will be revealed closer to the event.
