(WINDSOR, ON) – Windsor’s own 519 Band recently won the Canada South Blues Society’s annual blues band competition. As a result, the 519 Band has won the right to compete in the 32nd International Blues Challenge being held in Memphis.
The 519 Band leaves for Memphis on January 25, but you have a chance to see them perform live before they depart.
At 7:30pm on Sunday, January 24, the 519 Band will be on stage at Good Time Charly, located at 4715 Tecumseh Road East, at Pillette Road. You’ll be able to see and hear what it takes to be the best Windsor has to offer.
The 2016 edition of the International Blues Challenge is being held from January 26 until 30 in downtown Memphis, in the Beale Street Historic District. The challenge begins Tuesday night featuring the International Showcase.
On Wednesday and Thursday night quarter finals will be conducted followed by the semi finals on Friday. The IBC will conclude with the finals in the beautiful Orpheum Theatre on Saturday.
