(WINDSOR, ON) – While no blue-green algae has been reported, excessive E.coli readings have caused warnings for five area beaches this week.

The five beaches, Colchester Beach, Holiday Beach, Mettawas Beach, Point Pelee West Beach, and West Belle River Beach have been termed unsafe for swimming with high levels of bacteria which may pose a risk to swimmers’ health. However, the beaches are not closed.

Seacliff Beach, Sandpoint Beach, Hillman Marsh Beach, Cedar Island Beach, and Cedar Beach all received a clean bill of health from the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
