(WINDSOR, ON) – John Larsh, a lifelong resident of Windsor, has a third solo art show at Artspeak Gallery scheduled for August 23 through 27. This free exhibit features a wide range of original abstract paintings by Larsh and offers visitors the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of his artistic process.
Larsh is a self-taught artist who began painting later in his life. Encouraged by the works and teachings of gifted artists, friends and family members, and his own impassioned sense of knowing he wanted to paint contemporary abstract art, challenged him to work and learn.
Over time Larsh developed his unique process of moving and directing the flow of paint on glass by applying layers and layers of bold colour creating paintings of contrast, depth and movement. His vision became a reality as he continues to refine his unique technique and abstract expression to create light refracting, high energy works of art.
“It is rewarding and fulfilling to create art with which people feel a sense of connection.” said Larsh.
Influenced by natures flow, spontaneous movement, and light Larsh uses his fascination for bold contrasting colour to connect the subject and the spaces between them presenting the viewer with a flat, smooth painting of juxtaposed brilliance. His paintings are shaped by his experiences of people, places, and life itself.
Larsh’s work has an energetic feel with bold colours which suggest inspiration and courage alongside the unknown background forces of life.
The exhibition runs August 23 – 25 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, August 26 between 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a meet and greet from 6:00 to close, and August 27 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
