(WINDSOR, ON) – Artcite, Windsor’s artist-run centre for the contemporary arts, is presenting Chthonic Youth, a solo exhibition by local, mid-career artist and concrete poet Gustave Morin. The exhibition runs Wednesdays through Saturdays between 12noon and 5:00pm from October 13 through November 19 in the Artcite space at 109 University Avenue West, in Windsor.
The closing reception will be held on November 11 at 7:00pm with Morin in attendance, and is free and open to the public.
For this exhibit, Morin will draw from a quarter of a century of his published and unpublished visual poetry and other collected materials to mount an immersive installation. While “performing” on his arsenal of 27 typewriters, Morin will also inhabit and use the gallery as a laboratory-cum-studio to interact with gallery visitors as well as to produce and display new typewriter poems.
Chthonic Youth is programmed in conjunction with Bookfest Windsor, southwestern Ontario’s only literary festival.
